Freshwater Angelfish are among the most popular and elegant aquarium fish. Their distinctive triangular shape, graceful swimming, and variety of colors make them centerpiece fish in many aquariums. While beautiful, they require proper care and compatible tank mates.
Angelfish are native to the Amazon River basin in South America. They were first imported to Europe in 1911 and to the United States in the 1920s. Selective breeding has produced many color varieties beyond the original silver with black stripes.
